In order to be properly prepared for any new venture you plan on embarking on in your business, you need to ask yourself some serious questions. The same is true before you create a messenger bot, too. And when it comes to these innovative AI technologies, there are two important questions you need to be able to answer.
The first is, where is your audience? There are so many apps available today that have bot-capabilities and one should never be chosen without putting some serious thought into it. Is your audience on Twitter? That’s where the bot should be. Or are they on Facebook? If so, that’s where your app should be. WhatsApp, Telegram, and Skype are just a few other messaging apps that have bot-capabilities. Before you determine where your messenger bot is going to be, you need to know where your customers are. That is after all, the only way you’re actually going to reach them.
The other question is, what problem are you trying to solve? Messenger bots have many different capabilities. They can be used for customer service, they can be used to process payments, and they can be used to schedule hotel rooms, restaurant reservations, among a whole host of other solutions! If you try to get your messenger bot to do all of these, it will end up being ineffective and could even lead to frustrating users. Put some serious thought into what your customers need help with most, and what you need most out of your messenger bot. That will be the answer to the problem you’re trying to solve with your bot.
While your messenger bot is going to be the answer to many of your business’ (and customers’) problems, in order for it to be really effective, you need to first come up with some answers on your own. It’s the only way to really ensure your messenger bot brings you all the benefits it has the potential to.
